  1. Geee Un Chien Andalou is THAT good? I've been meaning to watch it but I keep on getting put off by the infamous scene where someone's eyeball gets cut in half (or something like that?) and I have serious eye phobia (getting poked in the eye etc).
Btw, what does your blog name mean? :)

  2. For me it is that good. I know other Luis Bunuel fans who place any of his other works at top and deservedly so, but for me that is the one that changed every thing I understood about movies. I saw it pretty early on in my movie watching life and have not been able to remove it from my memory. If you can get past the initial eye cutting scene I assure you it is something magical. If you cannot I would highly recommend watching either The Exterminating Angel or The Milky Way instead, because they are the next best representations of the brilliance that is Bunuel. As for my blog name Cinemalacrum is a combination of the word Cinema and simulacrum which means a simulation that provides a "likeness" to reality. In my opinion cinema provides a likeness to our reality and is what led me to combine the two words into a single blog name.

  3. I read brief summaries of the two movies you recommended, both sound really fascinating, especially The Exterminating Angel. I'll definitely watch them and get back to you to tell you what I thought of them :D

As for your blog name, kudos to you, it's pretty darn smart I must say. Cinema does resemble the reality, that's why I'm interested in The Exterminating Angel, doubtlessly full of human psychology and taboos that I can relish on!
